These magazine subscribers periodically request copies of annual reports of selected companies for any one of the following reasons: 1. They have shares of these companies in their current investment portfolios; or they are interested in acquiring shares in some publicly listed companies, and they want to assess the investment worthiness of these companies. 2. The businesses of these companies affect their own because these companies are their competitors, suppliers, customers, agents, etc., whose performance is worth knowing. 3. They are planning to change jobs, and they are considering these companies as prospective employers. The request for annual reports come in via a free service offered by magazines to their subscribers.
